We’ve just picked up one or two of these vintage Kosikup mouthpieces and there doesn’t seem to be much information out there, which is strange since they were made by Boosey & Hawkes.
On Facebook we found…
“I have become interested in Kosikup mouthpieces which were common in UK Brass Bands around the UK in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. I am having trouble finding anything at all about their history and would appreciate it if anyone could point me to information and a list of their mouthpieces and which numbers refer to which instruments (eg – No 7 is for Tenor Horn – I use one.) I would also be interested in any surplus ones anyone may have to flesh out my infant collection, especially number 7 in case I lose my ‘player’.”
