Elkhart instruments were produced by the Buescher Band Instrument Company, which operated in Elkhart, Indiana, from 1894 to 1963.
I have it dated from 1920s to the 1950s.
New mouthpiece with reed.
Dimensions: Bell opening 5.5″ / 14cm. Body: 29″ / 74cm
Looks like it should play/function as intended. A patch of plating on back has been rubbed of with time where the thumb goes. Lacquer showing its age overall. Case is in nice condition. See photos to get a better idea and ask if not sure.
