This work was given its first performance at the Leith Hill Festival, Dorking, in 1930, and has been recorded by Heather Harper, The Bach Choir, and the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Willcocks on HMV ASD 2422. Full scores are on sale. An adaptation of the chorus parts for female voice by Jean Storry is also on sale (voice parts only).

The accompaniment is scored for full orchestra but is cued in for smaller orchestra. Large-size scores and orchestral parts are on hire, together with material of an arrangement for piano (or organ) and strings.
